Antisocial Personality Disorder
DEFINITION
- Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD), as defined in the DSM-5, describes a "pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others. The disorder begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood"[1]. Antisocial personality disorder must be distinguished from general criminal behavior.
- The behavior of the person tends to be impulsive and is often criminal.
