Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
DEFINITION
- A prolonged distressing or impairing reaction (>1 month) to exposure to traumatic event(s) characterized by involuntary intrusive reminders, avoidance of associated stimuli, negative alterations in mood and cognition, and/or hyperarousal/reactivity.[1]
