DESCRIPTION

  • Albuminuria is a sensitive screening marker for chronic kidney disease (CKD ).
  • Normal value for albumin excretion in urine : < 30 mg/ 24hrs
  • Microalbuminuria (moderately increased albuminuria): 30- 300 mg/ 24hrs equal to 30-300 mg/g albumin to creatinine ratio or (ACR)
  • Macroalbuminuria (severely increased albuminuria): > 300 mg/ 24hrs equal to ACR > 300 mg/g
  • Once detected, confirm with 2 out of 3 samples over the next 3-6 months
