    • Most closely related known viruses: Dhori virus (seen in ticks, mosquitoes and lethal in mice; cases in humans rare but can cause fever or encephalitis), Batken virus (sub-type of Dhori virus)
    • Discovered in 2014 and named for Bourbon County, Kansas
