Vaccinia (smallpox vaccine)
MICROBIOLOGY
- DNA virus, also known as "Cowpox," member of the Poxviridae family. 
- Broad host range; multiple strains w/ different virulence.
 - Rarely isolated outside of the laboratory.
 
 - Often used for recombinant viruses or engineered w/ foreign DNA in research settings.
