VACCINE TYPES

  • Pneumovax (PPSV-23): 23-valent polysaccharide vaccine w/ serotype antigens covering 87% bacteremic cases and most PCN-resistant serotypes.
  • Prevnar 13 (PCV-13): 13-valent conjugate vaccine covers serotypes 1, 3, 5, 4, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F, and 23F.
  • PCV-15: contains PCV-13 serotypes in addition to 22F and 33F serotypes
  • PCV-20: contains PCV-13 serotypes in addition to 8, 10A, 11A, 12F, 15B, 22F, and 33F serotypes
