Acne Vulgaris
PATHOGENS
- Cutibacterium (ex. Propionibacterium)acnes (but not likely sole causative factor)
- Pathogenesis: It is a primary inflammatory condition that involves: (1) abnormal follicular keratinization and occlusion, (2) excessive oil/sebum production, (3) bacterial superinfection (P. acnes), (4) release of inflammatory mediators.
