Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
DEFINITION
- Chronic mood disorder characterized by changes in mood, concentration, energy, sleep and appetite, as well as physical symptoms, that occur in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle and resolve within a few days of onset of menses.
- The symptoms must cause clinically significant distress or impairment, and the symptoms must occur in most menstrual cycles.
