DEFINITION

  • Enuresis refers to the repeated voiding of urine in inappropriate places by children 5 years of age and older[1].
    • Examples of inappropriate places: in clothes, on the floor, in the bed
    • It does not matter if this is done intentionally or involuntarily, although this may affect treatment.
  • Enuresis is classified under the Elimination Disorders section of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5)[2].
