- HHV-8, a gamma herpes virus, also known as Kaposi sarcoma (KS)-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), is etiologic agent of all clinical variants of KS (also causes multicentric Castleman disease , primary effusion lymphoma, and Kaposi sarcoma herpesvirus inflammatory cytokine syndrome - KICS).
- Multicentric angioproliferative tumor with spindle-shaped tumor cells, aberrant proliferation of blood vessels, and extravasated RBCs involving skin, mucosa, and visera of internal organs
