  • Common:
    • Escherichia coli (80-85%)
  • Less common but not rare:
    • Staphylococcus saprophyticus
    • Group B Streptococcus
    • Other Enterobacterales
    • Enterococcus spp.
  • Rare:
    • P. aeruginosa,H. influenzae, M. tuberculosis
    • Ureaplasmaspp. and Mycoplasma spp. have been described, but their potential roles remain controversial.
  • Chlamydia trachomatis can cause urethritis with dysuria and pyuria but is not associated with cystitis or acute pyelonephritis.
